September Give Back Partner: Connected Roots Care Center 🌳
At Metro Stars, we believe every child deserves opportunities to move, play, grow and feel like they belong. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Connected Roots Care Center (CRCC) as our September Metro Stars Gives Back partner!
For 35 years, Connected Roots Care Center has been supporting children of all abilities and the families who love them throughout the Omaha community. CRCC provides an inclusive environment where children with a wide range of developmental, medical and learning needs can grow, learn and thrive. Their services bring education, skilled nursing and medical support, physical, occupational and speech therapy, behavioral health services, and family resources together to provide coordinated care and support for families.
It’s a mission that connects closely with something we care deeply about at Metro Stars: creating spaces where every child has the opportunity to participate, experience success and have FUN!
Our Connection with CRCC
Our September Give Back partnership is just one of the ways we’ve had the opportunity to connect with CRCC and the families they serve.
In August, Metro Stars joined CRCC at the Big Dreams Family Festival at Stinson Park. The free, inclusive community event was created to celebrate children of all abilities with live entertainment, hands-on activities, interactive experiences and plenty of family fun.
Metro Stars even had the opportunity to take the Big Dreams stage! The festival included our Metro Stars Gymnastics performance alongside other local and regional performers, plus the Possibility Playground, an interactive area filled with movement, art, music, sensory experiences and activities designed for children of all abilities.
We loved being part of a day centered around connection, inclusion and celebrating what’s possible for every child.
Creating More Opportunities to Move, Play & Grow
Our connection with CRCC also extends into the gym.
Through Inclusive Open Gym events and Inclusive Gymnastics Classes, we’re working to create more opportunities for children with varying abilities and support needs to experience gymnastics in a welcoming environment.
Gymnastics offers so many opportunities beyond learning skills. Kids can explore movement, build strength and coordination, gain confidence and experience the excitement that comes from trying something new. Most importantly, they get a chance to play, participate and celebrate their own progress.
We’re excited to continue growing these opportunities and connecting with organizations like CRCC that share a commitment to supporting children and families throughout our community.
Flip, Play & Give Back This September!
Throughout September, 20% of all Metro Stars Open Gym proceeds will be donated to Connected Roots Care Center.
That means every trip to Open Gym is a chance for your gymnast to get moving and have fun while helping support an organization making a meaningful difference for children and families right here in Omaha.
