Big Dreams: Celebrating What’s Possible for Every Child 🌈🎉

At Metro Stars Gymnastics, we believe gymnastics should be a place where every child has the opportunity to move, learn, build confidence, and experience the joy of success.

That is why we are so excited to be part of Big Dreams, a free, inclusive family festival hosted by Connected Roots Care Center (CRCC) on Saturday, August 22, at Stinson Park in Aksarben Village.

Big Dreams is a celebration of what is possible when a community comes together to create opportunities for every child. And this year, Metro Stars is thrilled to be part of that celebration!

From the Gym to the Big Stage

Earlier this month, we hosted our first Inclusive Gymnastics Workshop, bringing together approximately 15 children ages 3–18 and their families.

The workshop was designed to be an introduction to the Metro Stars gymnastics environment. Together, we explored simple gymnastics stations, learned a group routine, practiced performing, and—perhaps most importantly—connected families who share a similar goal: finding meaningful opportunities for their children to participate, grow, and have fun.

There were lots of little victories throughout the workshop.

✨ A new skill attempted.
✨ A station completed.
✨ A routine remembered.
✨ A child trying something they had never done before.
🌟 And, most importantly, smiles.

Those smiles are the biggest reminder of why inclusive gymnastics matters.

Success doesn’t have to look the same for every child. Sometimes success is mastering a new skill. Sometimes it is trying something that feels a little scary. Sometimes it is simply walking into a new environment and feeling like you belong.

At Metro Stars, we want to celebrate all of it.

We’re Taking the Celebration to Big Dreams!

Now, our workshop participants are getting the opportunity to take what they learned and share it with the community at Big Dreams!

During the event, our Inclusive Gymnastics participants will perform their group routine and demonstrate some of the simple gymnastics stations they have been practicing.

But the fun doesn’t stop there!

Metro Stars will also have a booth at the festival where families can:

🤸 Try an interactive obstacle course
⭐ Learn more about our Inclusive Gymnastics programs
🩵 Discover our Occupational Therapy offerings through Metro Stars Therapy
🎉 Learn about Open Gym opportunities
🎁 Grab a few fun Metro Stars giveaways

We would love for families to stop by, say hello, try the obstacle course, and learn more about how Metro Stars is working to make gymnastics and movement accessible to more children in our community.

Why Inclusive Gymnastics Matters

Inclusive gymnastics isn’t about making every child do the same thing.

It’s about creating an environment where children can participate in a way that works for them.

It may mean modifying a station. It may mean providing additional support. It may mean giving a child extra time, changing the way a skill is taught, or celebrating a much smaller step toward a goal.

The goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is participation, progress, confidence, and—most importantly—belonging.

Our Inclusive Gymnastics program is built around meeting children where they are and creating opportunities for them to experience the same things so many children love about gymnastics: movement, exploration, challenge, friendship, and the incredible feeling of saying, “I did it!”

We are so excited to see our workshop participants take that feeling from the gym to the stage at Big Dreams.
